Pro Bowl Voters Deal the Denver Broncos a Full Boat

The Denver Broncos, having started off the 2012 NFL season 2-3, and since reeled off 10 straight wins to be within reach of a number one seed in the AFC, continue to get kudos from around the league.  As the 2013 Pro Bowl lineups were announced a short while ago, players and coaches, as well as the fans have now spoken by naming five Broncos to be part of the game in Honolulu.

Quarterback Peyton Manning, LB Von Miller and CB Champ Bailey will start for the AFC, while DE Elvis Dumervil and T Ryan Clady were also given the nod.  The fans spoke last week when it was announced that Manning was the lead vote-getter in internet voting, but we all know that sometimes those numbers can be a little skewed.  Today, it was apparent that the players and coaches around the league concur with the fans choice.

Manning has thrown for over 4,300 yards while tossing 34TDs against 11INTs, and while he may try to tell everyone he is not as good as past years, the statistics may prove him wrong.  Miller has 17.5 sacks, with 1INT and six forced fumbles and seems to be in on every play.  There is not much else that can be said about Bailey, who has been one of the league’s top shutdown corners for 14 years, and has been voted to his 12th Pro Bowl, as has Manning, which is the most of any QB in history.

Dumervil himself has 11 sacks on the year to go with six forced fumbles and offers the other half of the league’s best sack tandem with Miller.  Clady makes his third Pro Bowl in five years, and has the distinction of being only the fourth tackle in the league to make every start in his career.

So to go along with a 12-3 record, two players in Manning and Miller that will be up for multiple other awards at seasons end, most notably the NFL MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year, the Broncos are also picked by many to be the best team in the NFL.  The Broncos also have quite a few players picked as alternates to represent the AFC.

Wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, guards Chris Kuper and Zane Beadles, and special teamers David Bruton and Britton Colquitt might all have the opportunity to lead the Broncos charge into Hawaii.

However, this may all be for naught though, as many are now picking the Broncos as one of the favorites to represent the AFC on the Sunday following the Pro Bowl.  I know that it may be an honor for the players to be chosen, but if they are not there, then that only means they are preparing for the Super Bowl.  And that is where they would rather get their kudos.
