NFL Rumors Say Miami Dolphins Wide Receivers Are Walking Wounded

The 2012 Miami Dolphins season is going to end as they travel to take on the New England Patriots (game preview is HERE). We know the secondary is hobbled (article on injuries in the secondary is HERE) and word out of Florida is the offense will surely be without multiple starters on Sunday.

We know Jake Long is OUT. He is a free-agent after 2012 ends. His journey from here on out will be interesting to watch as Miami may feel that they have options to replace Long at a significantly lower price-tag.

Now word is that Davone Bess is OUT. He had never missed in a game in his five year career going 77 for 77, but this will be his third straight game where his back issue will force him to sit out.

Brian Hartline is dealing with a back issue. He has played injured a few times this season and I would think that would be the case here as well. In his past six games Hartline has had 50+ receiving yards just twice, and zero touchdowns. As good as Hartline has been in 2012 it does hurt that his touchdown total is at a lowly one. Surely this game vs the Pats has a good chance to turn into a game where Miami needs to score a lot of points to stay in the game as NE is the #1 scoring team in the NFL.

New Dolphin Armon Binns was targeted four times last week vs the Buffalo Bills, and three were complete (27 yards). The coaching staff seems to like what they have seen in their short time with Binns, but he is dealing with a groin issue currently. I would think he is going to play, but it does sound like he will not be at 100%.

The Pats secondary yields a lot of passing yards (ranked #29 overall) but they are a top-5 unit for picking off the football. It looks like Miami could be relying on guys like Marlon Moore, Rishard Matthews, and perhaps Marcus Thigpen to make plays this Sunday.
