Green Bay Packers Injury Report

The Green Bay Packers are getting closer to returning back to full strength as they prepare to face the Minnesota Vikings for the third time this season.

Veteran cornerback Charles Woodson was at his second straight day of practice participating fully as he has been cleared to play by the team doctors after breaking his collarbone over two months ago. More good news for the Packers is that wide receiver Jordy Nelson was back at practice and participated in some drills and sprints after missing practice on Tuesday. However, there is still concern over Nelson’s knee and whether or not he will be able to play this upcoming Saturday.

If Nelson is able to play through his knee injury, the Packers will have something that they haven’t had for most of the season on Saturday, that is Nelson, Greg Jennings and Randall Cobb all on the field at the same time. Last weekend Cobb was the one who missed the game, it was his first missed game of the season, but he should be back for the playoffs and was not even listed on the injury report for his hurt ankle. The offense was able to put on 34 points on the Vikings last weekend without Cobb, who has turned into the Packers’ number one receiver, and with him added to the lineup, the Packers may be unstoppable on offense.

On a negative note, the Packers have lost defensive tackle Jerel Worthy for the remainder of the season to a knee injury that he sustained during last week’s game. Running back James Starks was also limited in practice due to a knee injury and it looks like DuJuan Harris and Alex Green will share the load again this weekend.

This is the shortest the injury report has looked for the Packers in a long time and they are getting healthy at the right time. With Green Bay being almost fully healthy they should be big threats to win the Super Bowl this season.
