Denver Broncos: Updated Coaching News

These are the most recent updates on coaching news involving assistant coaches for the Denver Broncos.

As we reported a couple of days ago here on Rant Sports, Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is a hot candidate for many of the open head coaching jobs around the NFL. McCoy will reportedly interview with four teams over the weekend. Those teams include; the Chicago Bears, the Buffalo Bills, the Philadelphia Eagles and possibly the Arizona Cardinals.

It is becoming more and more likely that McCoy will land one of those jobs as interest in his services continues to grow. McCoy will be available for interviews over the weekend, but all interviews must be conducted before Sunday night. Once Monday arrives, McCoy’s full attention will be on the Broncos and their upcoming playoff game on Saturday January 12th.

It also appears more and more likely that defensive coordinator, Jack Del Rio will remain in Denver for at least one more season. As of Thursday afternoon, Del Rio had not been contacted by anyone and has expressed a desire to stay with the Broncos. The Broncos would prefer not to lose anyone but if they could choose which one to hang onto, it would be Del Rio. They have not had any continuity on that side of the ball, and Del Rio provides that.

The coaching merry go round in the NFL continues to turn, and we will certainly keep you up to date on how any of those moves affect the Broncos. It’s important to remember one thing; once Monday arrives no team can talk to any of the Broncos’ assistants until their playoff run is over.
