If you like rematches from the week previous, the NFC Wild Card Game on Saturday night between the No. 6 seed Minnesota Vikings and the No. 3 seed Green Bay Packers is for you. The two teams will meet in Green Bay at 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC after Minnesota beat Green Bay last week to reach the playoffs. This game boils down to one very key player in my opinion.
Adrian Peterson finished just eight yards away from tying Eric Dickerson’s single season rushing record and has torn the Packers up this season with nearly 200 yards per game. I think Green Bay will have a solution for Peterson this week in their third meeting though and that is stopping any hope of a Minnesota passing game. If the Packers can make Minnesota a complete one-man team with Peterson, they could run away with this game. Peterson has basically been the whole team lately anyway but appears to want to play even more this week than normal even on special teams which could hurt him in the end.
I think the home field is going to be Green Bay’s best friend in this game as Minnesota just isn’t the same team outside anyway. Aaron Rodgers should be able to have another great day on the Minnesota defense and will lead the Packers to a 31-20 victory. This is definitely a battle of Peterson against the Green Bay defense with the winner of that matchup getting the team win. I think Green Bay though will just be too much this time around for the Vikings.
