There’s an old saying that goes like this: “He who laughs last, laughs best”.  The Redskins have managed to best their NFC East peers with a surprising entrance into the NFL 2013 playoffs with a rookie quarterback, rookie backup quarterback, and a rookie running back leading the charge.  If you don’t think that’s surprising, it’s definitely unexpected if you go by the old stereotypes surrounding rookies.  Each NFC East Team has a seasoned quarterback except the Redskins and yet they were beat one by one. Luck or skill? Maybe a little bit of both. So maybe a few jokes are the call of the day. We all know that if it was the other way,  we would be the blunt of the jokes too.

And while the Redskins may be the last team standing in the NFC East, that is not true when it comes to the NFL…yet.  I think this tweet simply sets up a swarm of comments if the Redskins lose against the Seattle Seahawks  Sunday.

Should that happen, we’ll be using another saying: “Misery loves company”.

Look, everyone is enjoying this week. The Redskins are NFC East Champions, Robert Griffin III is feeling like 100 percent, and everyone including Redskins players can use some material they’ve been waiting to dish out  for years.  I get that.  However, it’s important to remember that when you crack your jokes, post your memes, and wave your flags this week, you’ve got to follow through next week – win or lose. I’m not going to tell a guy who hangs out with professional wrestlers what to tweet, but it’s important to be mindful of what we say sometimes.
