Chip Kelly Closing In On Deal With Cleveland Browns

Chip Kelly is the hottest name out there on the coaching market. He just finished up coaching in college last night and he hasn’t not waited long to get close to a deal with a NFL team.

Yes, the Cleveland Browns are getting closer to revamping their entire franchise.  Kelly could be a home run hire if he is in the right situation.  That being said, are the Browns the best team for him to take over?

I really don’t think this is the best spot unless you give him plenty of time to shape the roster.  If Kelly wanted to come in and have success right away, I still think the Philadelphia Eagles would be the best fit.  Look at the two rosters and tell me which one fits a Kelly system better.  If you pick the Browns, you are either a homer or a person who does not know a lot about football.

However, Philly may have not even offered Kelly the job, so it is a moot point.  The Browns have shown that they are willing to step up to the plate to improve.  You can’t fault them for that.  They have to give Kelly time, though.  His system will not fall into place right away.

This is a bold move if it happens.  I know that we are going to be excited to see if his system can work.
