NFL Rumors: Denver Broncos’ Mike McCoy Schedules Head Coaching Interviews

Ron Chenoy – US Presswire

It has been rumored that Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy has scheduled interviews with the Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles.

McCoy is a former Division I and World League quarterback and he has 13 years of coaching experience in the NFL. Although he has mostly been a quarterbacks coach he has also been the Broncos’ offensive coordinator for the last three seasons. McCoy has coached under John Fox for 10 seasons, Josh McDaniels for two seasons and George Siefert for one season. He has worked with quarterbacks Jake Delhomme in Carolina and with Kyle Orton, Time Tebow and Peyton Manning in Denver.

McCoy has worked with an experienced coach like Fox for many seasons and has also been with younger, up-and-coming guys like McDaniels. He’s worked with mediocre quarterbacks such as Delhomme and Orton and also with masterminds like Manning. In addition, he’s coached Tebow, who took the idea of an NFL offense to a place it’s never been before…and probably should never be again.

I would say this guy has seen enough and has been around a lot of very talented guys in order to be ready to take control of an NFL team as the head coach. Right now would be the best time for this guy because he has been working with Fox and Manning and they are two of the best football minds to ever be around the game.

A word of advice for the Bills, Cardinals, and Eagles: Get him before the others do. But hopefully no one takes him so the Broncos can keep him.
