Lance Moore Nominated For Prestigious Award
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Lance Moore had an amazing year this past season. Moore set a career high for receiving yards with 1,041, the first time in his career that Moore ever received for 1,000 yards or more. Moore is quietly becoming one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and is definitely one of the best receivers on the Saints.
Moore enjoyed a lot of success on the field this season, but it was his actions off the field that has earned him a nomination for a very prestigious award. Moore has been nominated by the Saints for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
Every year the NFL gives out the Man of the Year Award to honor players’ charity and volunteer work in addition to their success on the field. Since coming to the Saints Moore has been a key factor in helping to improve the community in New Orleans.
The Lance Moore Community Cares Program is a program that Moore established that serves families and disadvantaged children that might be in need of financial and educational assistance. Moore takes great pride in his community outreach and his career as an NFL player.
When Moore learned of his nomination he had this to say,
“It’s a great honor,”… “Community service is very important to my teammates and I and it’s something I enjoy doing. I take a lot of pride in the work I do on and off the field.”
In addition to being a great football player it is clear that Moore is also as classy as they come. It is nice that Moore was nominated but it does not matter if he wins the award or not. What matters is that Moore is out taking advantage of his blessings to help others and that is very admirable.
