The Arizona Cardinals Can’t Waste More Time Finding a New Coach

Time is no longer on the Arizona Cardinals‘ side. The team has been without a head coach for two weeks and it’s time to make a move. They are wasting precious days that could be used preparing for the NFL draft, free agency and the 2013 season. Two weeks does not seem like a long time, but those are two weeks the Cardinals will not get back.

The Cardinals have interviewed DC Ray Horton, Cincinnati Bengals OC Jay Gruden and Denver Broncos OC Mike McCoy. The favorite at the moment seems to be the current defensive coordinator, Horton. If it were up to me, I am going with an offensive guy to fix a team with more than a handful of offensive problems. The NFL has reached a crossroads where the defense does not matter anymore.

Teams are scoring 30 plus points in almost every game, even if they lose. It’s a sad truth, but why waste money on something that is not going to matter in getting your team to the Super Bowl? The Cardinals lost a game 58-0 this year to the Seattle Seahawks. The offense was the main reason they lost by so much. Turnovers like you wouldn’t believe and most, if not all, of the Cardinals problems are fixed if they had an offense that was not the worst in the league.

Fans are getting impatient. They want to see GM Steve Keim and President Michael Bidwill make the right decision, but the right decision needs to come sooner rather than later.
