NFL Team Needs: New Quarterback for Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals need to find their Peyton Manning. By that, I don’t mean bring in arguably the greatest player ever to step on an NFL field. I simply mean find a suitable replacement for the last franchise quarterback.
The Denver Broncos had a ton of trouble finding a suitable replacement for John Elway until they brought Manning to town. The Cardinals have been awful since Kurt Warner retired, going through quarterbacks about as often as Kevin Kolb goes through underwear. Speaking of whom, the Cardinals need to start by showing him the door.
Arizona needs a new quarterback and there are none in the 2013 NFL Draft class that fit the bill. Hush your nonsense about Geno Smith–that guy won’t cut it at the next level. Arizona needs to bring in a quarterback from another team via trade. (Don’t even think about mentioning Michael Vick–they need a real quarterback).
So who fits the bill? Well, a guy like Colt McCoy might do it. Sure, he’s not a superstar, but he could be a whole lot better than he was as a starter in Cleveland in the right system. Of course, that system and the quarterback brought in will have to revolve around the Cardinals’ new coach. Ken Whisenhunt was finally given the boot, but he hasn’t been replaced yet. Whoever Arizona brings in (Lovie Smith? Norv Turner? How about a nice Mike Mularkey? That would be Arizona’s luck) needs to find a new signal-caller and I mean fast.
