Can Colin Kaepernick Repeat His Performance Against the Atlanta Falcons?

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Okay, I don’t need to talk much about Colin Kaepernick‘s game last week against the Green Bay Packers in the NFL Divisional Round playoff game, right? I mean by now, the whole world knows Kaepernick did everything right.

Okay, moving on. The question on everyone’s mind now is can the 25-year old repeat this performance when it matters the most?

The answer to that question is…yes!

Kaepernick is another one of these read-option, athletic QBs that can also throw it pretty well. Frankly, I think he could be one of the fastest QBs in all of football. Throw in the fact he’ll be playing on turf? Yikes. I think he’s going to be a nightmare for the Atlanta Falcons defense because he fools me every read option. Sometimes he keeps it, sometimes he doesn’t and it does terrible things to my mind! So, the 49ers are going to be able to run it effectively. Can they execute through the air? Uh, yeah- they can.

As long as Kaepernick doesn’t turn the ball over, I see the niners winning this one. He’s going to continue feeding Michael Crabtree (he’s turning into one heck of a receiver too – nice pick, Oakland) and Vernon Davis so again- no turnovers is going to mean a lot of yards which should lead to alot of points.

I see Kaepernick taking this team to the Super Bowl. That’s not to say Atlanta is a “bad football team” by any means. They’re a quality club, but I believe they’re just not going to be able to maintain the edges consistently enough.

We’ll see what happens, but one thing is for certain: I can’t wait for this one because this is shaping up to be a barn burner.
