If you’re still not familiar with Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, maybe the title of his new book finally caught your eye. Kluwe, who has made his rounds this last year on various television networks and websites in support of gay marriage, now has his sights set on releasing a book this upcoming June.
The book is a collection of essays from Kluwe on a wide range of debatable topics, and it’s to be titled Beautifully Unique SparklePonies. That’s right folks, sparkleponies. Only from the mind of Kluwe.
I believe we’re looking at a June 25th release date, and it’s a collection of uncensored essays and stories about whatever I feel like.

Topics of the book include, but are not limited to: sportsball, augmented reality, empathy, random wordplay, the Fermi Paradox, and Grus.

You get the idea…
After all the debating and writing Kluwe has done over the last year, this was the next logical step. Why not write a book? While I’m sure there is a financial side to this, Kluwe doesn’t come off as a person who would do this solely for greenbacks. He’s on record as saying that all he needs is a couch and his video games. He even agrees that as a part of the one percent, he should pay higher tax rates.
This book will be written from the heart and from the unique mind of Kluwe. Is he using his platform to voice his opinions? Absolutely, but he’s doing it for positive reasons, not just to make a buck or for publicity. Kluwe simply believes that people are people, and he fights for equality. Sure, he does it with profanity-laced tirades, but at least he’s entertaining and different.
