2013 NFL Playoffs: Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones Dominating Defenses

Julio Jones may be the best wideout in football. That may sound like hyperbole, but the kid comes to play every single day. It appears that the 2013 NFL Playoffs may just be his coming out party. The Atlanta Falcons wideout has dominated defenses and he currently has six catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Mind you, it is still just the first half.

The catches he made during the first half were things of beauty.  In fact, his second touchdown catch may have been one of the better catches of the season.  Jones managed to haul in the pass while keeping both feet in bounds.  That doesn’t sound great, but only had about a six inch window to pull off a toe tap.  He made the catch look a lot easier than most people could.

The Falcons are currently winning but we all know how they like to try to give games away.  They need to continue to find Jones if they want success.  His speed is his greatest asset and there is no one on the San Francisco 49ers defense that can run with him.  If you give Matt Ryan time, he will be able to find Jones.  If that is the case, ATL can make plans for the Super Bowl.

The game is far from over but Jones is making a case to be considered the best wideout in football.  His play somehow flew under the radar, but his playoff performance won’t.  Simply a fun guy to watch.
