In the final part of the conference championship edition of Public Enemy #1, New England Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib is it for the Baltimore Ravens. The 6′ 2″ 202 lb defensive back began the year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was a first round pick for the Buccaneers in 2008 but after some issues off the field, and in his contract year he was dealt up to Foxboro.
This year with two teams, Talib had 33 tackles, two interceptions and one was returned for a touchdown since coming to the Patriots. Talib is a big physical corner that could easily neutralize wide receivers Torrey Smith or Anquan Boldin on Baltimore. Also he wasn’t on the Patriots earlier this year when the Ravens defeated the Patriots down at M & T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, and besides this is the playoffs with the game in Foxboro where the Patriots are nearly unbeatable no matter when the game is.
The best way the Ravens to beat Talib is have their receivers, mainly Smith as he has the speed and far younger legs to perform a lot of double move routes and catch him when Talib bites on the first move make the second and hopefully score. Another strategy to do would be get running back Ray Rice into the offense with passes to him, and actually like last week give him 30 carries as well which will for sure increase the odds of a victory today for the Ravens.
