Torrey Smith Must Have Big Day For Baltimore Ravens

There are a lot of players who have to come up big in the AFC Championship Game but one in particular that will be especially key is Torrey Smith. If Smith can get deep on the New England Patriots, the Baltimore Ravens have a chance to move on to the Super Bowl in two weeks. Smith is the one target that Joe Flacco has who canmake New England uncomfortable.

I really believe that Smith has to stretch the field to allow Baltimore to have a chance to run the football with Ray Rice effectively. Smith has had great success as a deep receiver for the Ravens over the past two seasons and if Smith can finish with three or four catches for over 100 yards and a touchdown, Baltimore could make sure that last year’s AFC Championship Game doesn’t happen again. The Ravens would love to make up for losing one step away from the Super Bowl in this game and Smith has to play well for that to happen.

This is a very important game in the history of the Ravens as the team’s last Super Bowl title was over a decade ago now and getting back to the big game along with giving Ray Lewis one final chance to play should be another motivation. Hopefully Smith feels that motivation and can find some holes in the New England secondary. It will definitely be a storyline to watch as the game wears on into the night for a trip to New Orleans and Super Bowl XLVII.
