Darrelle Revis may be coming off of an injury but the New York Jets cornerback is still the best shutdown guy in the league. However, the Jets are probably going to trade him to save money and one team makes a whole heck of a lot of sense.
League sources tell @realfreemancbs that the #Packers are one team interested in Revis. Well, that’d be something…

You may be wondering how the Green Bay Packers fit into this mess, but let’s break it down. First off, the Packers wanted Revis in the 2012 NFL Draft. That has been stated time and time again. GM Ted Thompson is a master at flying under the radar and picking up key pieces. If he feels that he can get Revis without sacrificing too much, he will do it.
The team will have some cap space that opens up this off-season. Donald Driver is not going to be back, Greg Jennings has one foot out the door and AJ Hawk may be cut due to the amount of money he makes. The real question involves Charles Woodson. If the team brings him back, this move would make no sense. However, if Chuck is sent packing, Revis coming in makes a ton of sense.
Believe it or not, GB has plenty of young secondary pieces to deal back to the Jets. Maybe a first and fourth round pick plus one of the corners gets the dialogue moving.
There is always the chance that Revis doesn’t get dealt but keep an eye on GB when the talks heat up. It makes too much sense not to work.
