The Tennessee Titans are looking to make a splash in the NFL, and that splash comes in the form of suspended coordinator Gregg Williams.

EPSN reporter Adam Schefter is reporting that Williams has already met with the Titans and “is on the verge” of being hired as their Assistant Head Coach. Williams has previously worked with both head coach Mike Munchak and defensive coordinator Jerry Gray.

What does this mean for the franchise?

If Williams is hired, he will become the head coach of the Titans next season if Munchak fails to get off to a good start.

Honestly, if Munchak is fired, the better move would be to let Williams move to the defensive coordinator position, and name Gray as their interim head coach.

Williams of course, was the headmaster of the entire “bounty-gate” scandal with the New Orleans Saints. Some fans were shocked, but also happy, that he was suspended from the NFL indefinitely. Now the rumors circulate that the NFL will forgive his actions and allow him to be apart of the league once more.

It is a shame for the St. Louis Rams, who were basically teased by the chance of having as their defensive coordinator, but they may have landed someone even better, Rob Ryan.

No further details are available as far as what this means for his suspension and if a set contract is in place for his hiring in Tennessee.
