Top Prop Bets of Super Bowl 47
Super Bowl 47 Prop Bets
As Super Bowl 47 rolls around later this week, Vegas is salivating at the amount of money that will be wagered on the game and the events surrounding the game. Vegas doesn't get to have all the fun as restaurants and diners all around the country offer the Super Bowl square game and other forms of gambling games. By the end of Super Bowl weekend the majority of people will have gambled in some way or another.
One of the most entertaining ways to gamble during the Super Bowl is to throw some money down on the prop bets. These bets are based off of miscellaneous events like the halftime show, the national anthem and the amount of times they show someone. Obviously there's more to it than that but that is just a small example.
There are some tempting prop bets this year and a lot of them have to do with the story lines surrounding the game and that means everything Harbaugh. There are four to five prop bets distinctly dealing with the name Harbaugh and the family members involved in the game. How many times do you really think that the name Harbaugh will be mentioned during the broadcast? Check out the line to that one and make some easy money folks.
The Super Bowl is one of the greatest sporting events in the world and the amount of money that is wagered on it is astounding. So take a look at some of the best prop bets of Super Bowl 47 and gamble at least just a little bit.
Good luck World!
How long will Alicia Keys take to sing the National Anthem?
Line: Over/under 2 minutes, 15 seconds
It's hard to imagine Alicia Keys going over the time here. One of the longest renditions sung by Whitney Houston back in the day was barely two minutes. Safe bet here would be to take the under.
Will Alicia Keys forget or omit at least one word of the National Anthem?
Line: Yes +150, No -200
I seriously doubt that Keys, who is a very gifted musician would forget one of the words to the national anthem. By the time she arrives to sing she will have rehearsed the song hundreds of times so I'm taking "no" here.
Will Beyonce be joined by Jay-Z on stage at halftime of the Super Bowl show?
Line: Yes +110, No -150
You never know with Super Bowl halftime shows and this is an interesting bet. My gut is going with no because I don't think that Jay-Z would want to impose on Beyonce's moment.
What predominant color will Beyonce's top be at the beginning of the Super Bowl halftime show?
Black (9/4), Gold/Yellow (11/4), Silver/Grey (7/2), White (5/1), Red (13/2), Pink (15/2) Orange (12/1), Blue (15/1), Green (15/1)
Have to go with Gold/Yellow to be a New Orleans Saints homer since the game is being played in the SuperDome. My dark horse pick here would be red for the Red Cross to represent further hurricane relief efforts.
Who will Barack Obama pick to win the game?
Line: Ravens (-200), 49ers (+150)
Since his Bears are not in the Super Bowl this year the President does not have a vested interest in the winner. However, my guess is that he'll go with the 49ers.
What color will the Gatorade (or liquid) be that is dumped on the winning coach?
Line: Clear/Water (7/4), Orange (5/2), Yellow (5/2), Green (13/2), Red (13/2) Blue (13/2)
Water is too boring and you rarely see just water anymore. The safest bet would be to go with the generic yellow here but I'll go out on a limb and pick orange.
How many times will the game be referred to as the Harbaugh Bowl or Har Bowl or Super Baugh during the game?
Line: Over/under 2.5
I don't see how the line is this low. Going with the over seems like a lock. Maybe the announcers will want to focus solely on the teams and not the coaches but who knows.
Will either Jack or Jackie Harbaugh be shown on TV wearing any clothing that has either a SF or BAL log on it?
Line: Yes +200, No -300
This is probably one of the safest bets to take during the game and the consensus would be "no". Neither parent would likely want to show favoritism and they have already said they will wear neutral clothing.
How many times will Harbaugh be said during the game?
Line: Over/under 20.5
Uh, I think it's safe to say that Harbaugh will be said a bajillion times during the game so taking the over seems like a wise choice.
If Ray Lewis is interviewed after the game on the field or in the locker room how many times will he mention "God/Lord"?
Line: Over/under 3
Oh lawd, Ray Lewis has been very emotional during each one of his postgame interviews and he's thanked the Man above a good number of times. Going with the over here.
Coin toss results: Head or Tails?
Line: Heads (-105), Tails (-105)
Old reliable. This is easily the prop bet that is wagered on the most for the Super Bowl and while the saying is, "tails never fails" I think heads will prevail this time around. At least that's what I staked a free Papa Johns Pizza on.
Who will the Super Bowl MVP of the game thank first?
Line: Teammates (5/4), God (5/2), Coach (12/1), Family (12/1), Owner (15/1), Doesn't Thank Anyone (9/4)
Depending on who it is will determine the outcome for this bet but teammates is always a solid bet. Hope God doesn't strike me down for betting against Him. I gave Him props during the Ray Lewis bet so I think I'm good.
Will any Baltimore or San Francisco player on the active roster be arrested during the week before Super Bowl XLVII?
Line: Yes (5/1)
Can't put it past New Orleans and Bourbon street to provide a temptation for the players but with what's at stake it's hard to imagine a player being that stupid.
What will the TV ratings be for the Super Bowl?
Line: Over/under 46
With two new teams in the fold and plenty of story lines to go around I think it is safe to bet the "over" here. This could be the most watched Super Bowl ever.
What will be the highest tweets per second during the Super Bowl?
Line: Over/under 15,000
Twitter has taken over social media and it is never more prominent than during high profile sporting events. Taking the over here seems to be a no-brainer.
