There was almost as big a buzz about Beyonce being the halftime headliner as there was about the Super Bowl game itself. I can’t remember the last time there was as much anticipation over a halftime show. This may have been the first time in a long time that the halftime act for the Super Bowl appealed to both women and men alike.
With the Baltimore Ravens leading the San Francisco 49ers 21-6 at halftime, the Beyonce concert began, and it was awful! I was hoping to see Beyonce put to bed the rumors that she couldn’t sing live and even thought she dispelled that rumor earlier in the week, she failed to deliver today. In fact, she barely sung at all, instead choosing to dance provocatively all over the stage rather than sing. Don’t get me wrong, as a male who loves Beyonce, that is usually right up my alley since she is an absolutely stunning woman, but her performance stunk.
Actually, after watching it, I felt like it was much more of a dance show rather than a performance by a singer who has a great voice. No one has ever criticized Beyonce for her dancing and choreography, so it’s fine that she danced all over the place but there was little else to be excited about. Beyonce is an incredible performer but she didn’t deliver on the hype at the Super Bowl.
After it was finished, I read plenty of tweets about how great the halftime show was and I’m wondering what I was missing since I thought it was below average. To those who liked the halftime show, please enlighten me as to what was so good about it?
The Super Bowl is an extravaganza for everyone to enjoy and the world was anticipating a great halftime show from Beyonce. Unfortunately, like the 49ers in the first half, she didn’t deliver.
