Offensive Linemen are the True X Factor in Today’s Super Bowl for Both Teams
So many people are talking about this offensive player is the X factor and will win it for their team, however today more so than usual as these two teams have big, physical, and tenacious linemen. The average weight of the starting offensive line for the San Francisco 49ers is 317.4 lbs including Mike Iupati (pictured above) who weighs 331 by himself. Meanwhile the average weight of the Baltimore Ravens offensive line is 325.8 lbs. including Kelechi Osemele (pictured below) who tips the scale at 335 lbs.
These five men on each team are playing as a unit and they have imposed their will on opposing defenses. As a result Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce for the Ravens and Frank Gore and LaMichael James, not to mention Colin Kaepernick with the 49ers have all been able to run like mad men all season long. These linemen will never get the full credit they deserve, however without them neither team makes the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl.
Besides the sheer brawn that both teams have, they also have incredible brains including Matt Birk for the Ravens who is arguably one of the smartest players in the league, let alone at the center position. This is the main reason why this Super Bowl could likely go down in the annals of history as one of the greatest games ever played, not that this game needed any more hype.
