NFL Rumors: Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III to Begin Training Camp on PUP List?

(Brad Mills/USA Today Sports)

The topic that will haunt the minds of Washington Redskins fans throughout the entire offseason will be whether or not the team would have won on Wild Card Weekend against the Seattle Seahawks had Robert Griffin III been 100 percent healthy. The offensive Rookie of the Year is currently recovering from a torn ACL and LCL injury that he suffered in that game against the Seahawks and now–it appears one of the top NFL rumors involves Griffin beginning training camp on the PUP list.

Honestly, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise for anyone considering how serious the injury is and how long it usually takes to recover from. What Adrian Peterson managed to do last season was nothing short of amazing as he bounced back from tearing his ACL in Week 16 of the 2011 season and was good to go for Week 1, but Griffin’s injury looks like it could end up taking longer to heal.

It would be one thing if Griffin were a regular quarterback, but it’s no secret the former first-round pick is at his best when he can be mobile outside of the pocket. Griffin is one of those rare quarterbacks that is capable of being just as dangerous on the ground as he is through the air–which is why the Redskins will be anxious to see how well his recovery goes during the offseason.

Hopefully, Griffin has a speedy recovery and is back on the field sooner than expected. Washington was arguably one of the hottest teams in football towards the end of the season and if Griffin can return to the lineup before the start of the regular season–those expectations will be set even higher in 2013.

Eddie Lacy Could Barely Handle 30-Yard Run

Eddie Lacy is a short yardage specialist, and when he breaks these long runs he definitely will come out of the game every time. This huge run setup the Packers' go-ahead touchdown and they would never look back. Lacy would get his later in the game.

Watch Redskins' Reed Pull In One-Handed Catch

The Washington Redskins look like they're on another level against the Green Bay Packers. Kirk Cousins has looked sharp, connecting with Jordan Reed on multiple occasions including this amazing one-handed catch. Later in the drive, Cousins would hit Reed again for a touchdown that gave the Redskins an 11-0 lead.
