Yes folks, you read that that right the Cincinnati Bengals signed former first round pick defensive end/outside linebacker Aaron Maybin after two failed stints with the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets.  In four years in the NFL, Maybin only produced six sacks and a combined 25 tackles, it’s pretty abysmal for a player that was taken 11th overall in the 2009 NFL Draft. Granted he was the epitome of a one year wonder in college for the Penn State Nittany Lions and that could be likely the reason why he has bust written all over him.

This move is and will be highly questioned as long as Maybin is on the Bengals, that being said if anyone can motivate him to succeed it’s defensive coordinator, Mike Zimmer as he is a defensive mastermind who can light fire under players, as this Bengals defense is young and hungry that will only get better as long as they keep this nucleus together.

This addition comes with little risk to the Bengals however it could yield high rewards since Maybin will be 25 years old come Organized Team Activities, and the rest of the off-season work outs including training camp.  Plus if the Bengals can get Vontaze Burflict to play hard and get back into shape for the 2012 season, I can’t imagine what they could do with a first round pick like Maybin.
