The New Orleans Saints are facing some salary constraints this off-season and some players will definitely be let go of. The Saints are pretty set at the quarterback position with Drew Brees but they may be willing to let go of another quarterback on the roster.
Back up quarterback, Chase Daniel has been the number two quarterback for the past four seasons and the Saints would like to keep him. However, with Daniel set to be an unrestricted free agent the Saints might just let him go during the off-season.
Daniel is very valuable to the Saints because he knows the offense well and the team could rely on him to come in and take over should Brees ever go down. As an unrestricted free agent Daniel could be looking for a little more money from the Saints, but in reality the Saints might not have the money.
The Saints have more important issues to address than the backup quarterback. The team needs to address its defensive woes and possibly bring in some more defensive players. Furthermore, the Saints are in the midst of hiring a new defensive coordinator as they go to a 3-4 alignment.
In the end Daniel could go to another team in need of a good backup quarterback and could possibly make more money than he would with the Saints. If Daniel leaves the team the Saints should be fine but they would have to bring in a new backup. If Daniel leaves perhaps the Saints could re-sign Sean Canfield to be the new backup for Brees.
