I touched on a lot of interesting topics in my one on one interview with Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green. Apologies to my readers for not getting video, but I did catch audio of the whole thing, which you can listen to here.
Green was flattered that Jerry Rice singled him out as one of the best young receivers in the game and he called it “humbling”. Green has been in the league two years and been to two Pro Bowls. That is not too shabby, and he is on his way to giving Rice a run for his money. A long way, but still on the way.
I also asked Green about the state championship he won in basketball, and he said it was one of the best feelings he has ever had. Green is multi-talented and does some writing on the side; he talks about his writing (2:30) in his interview, and you can read some of it here. He is pretty talented and could have a second career as a novelist or sports writer. Rant is currently accepting resumes A.J.! (Although I think he is probably pretty happy in his current career.)
He also talked about how he developed some juggling skills as a kid (3:40) and how it may have helped him develop as a wide receiver.
Many thanks to the fine folks at Gatorade and keep your eyes open for Russell Wilson’s Gatorade Fuel Bar interview and video of Roger Goodell’s press conference this weekend.
