NFL Rumors: Could Tennessee Titans Trade Chris Johnson?

With the 2012 season now completed, there will be many people who want to move straight ahead to 2013. I personally could use a week or two away from it but teams like the Tennessee Titans I’m sure aren’t slowing down and are keeping their eyes open. I think one of the first things that could happen with the team is the potential that the Titans would want to trade Chris Johnson and go after Ahmad Bradshaw.

Johnson seemed to not run with the same energy early this season than he has in the past. I don’t know if it was because Jake Locker was the team’s quarterback instead of Matt Hasselbeck but it wasn’t the same Johnson. Johnson had just 45 yards through the first three games of the season and while he did finish with 1,243 yards, Johnson scored only six touchdowns. Johnson has only been in the league for five years but the wear and tear may already be getting to him. I’m sure Tennessee would entertain the idea of moving Johnson out of town if the right offer came along and especially with a player like Bradshaw, who is available and now has a chip on his shoulder.

Johnson has the potential to be special again but I think it is going to have to be in a different uniform now. The Titans don’t seem to be getting any better with Johnson in the backfield with a 6-10 record in 2012. It has been only 12 years since Tennessee made it to the Super Bowl and hopes I’m sure are still high to get back but it appears that can’t happen with Johnson around.
