There is so much speculation surrounding the NFL trade rumors of Minnesota Vikings receiver Percy Harvin that it’s getting a little farfetched now. The latest wild idea is that Harvin might end up with the Atlanta Falcons, which is just ludicrous. That’s not to say that it won’t happen because much strangers things have, but it definitely shouldn’t happen.

Harvin is a diva receiver if there ever was one, so there’s no way he’d be content as the third wheel in Atlanta behind Roddy White and Julio Jones. Sure, he would technically “start” in the slot, but everyone know Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan loves his two stars out wide. The Falcons throw the ball a ton, but there still wouldn’t be enough to go around for all three of these high-maintenance receivers.

The Falcons are one of very few teams who could afford to trade for an extra “luxury” player like Harvin as they have plenty of cap room and they could spare a second- or third-round pick, but he’s not the guy for that type of move, at least not for Atlanta. Even if it worked on financially, Harvin doesn’t exactly have a great track record off the field and Falcons head coach Mike Smith definitely couldn’t handle an odd personality like his. So if Atlanta really is looking to trade for Harvin, Falcons fans should be prepared for their own migraines.
