Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton helped make the dreams come true of a military man and his girlfriend last week during a marriage proposal on Charlotte radio.

Newton was on the air with Brian, a member of the United States Air Force stationed in New Mexico, and to the surprise of Brian was there to assist Brian as he proposed to his girlfriend of four years and big-time Newton fan, Kim.

Brian could not believe he was on the line with the former Heisman winning quarterback form Auburn and record-breaking quarterback for the Panthers and helped serve as his wingman as he prepared to deliver the biggest question of his life to the love of his life.

When Kim was introduced on the air and told she was on the phone with Newton, she thought she was being pranked and that there was no chance he could be on the other line talking to her at the moment. As Newton told Kim that Brian was on the other line and had a question to ask her, I could sense hearts were melting all across America.

This has all the makings of a Lifetime original movie with the military man proposing to his girlfriend with the help of an NFL quarterback. I’m sure this is exactly how Kim imagined she would be proposed to when she fantasized about the moment while watching ‘Say Yes to the Dress” and waiting for her big day.

Kudos to you Brian for popping the question and your next question should be asking Newton to be your best man at the wedding.

I gotta wonder though, would Kim have said yes if Newton wasn’t part of the proposal?

We can only wonder.
