NFL Rumors: Detroit Lions Interested in RB Reggie Bush?

Last season was nothing but a disappointment for Reggie Bush and the Miami Dolphins as the running back broke the 100-yard rushing mark just once over the final 14 games of the regular season–which was frustrating after he rushed for 241 yards and two touchdowns over the first two games of the season. With the potential surrounding Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Dolphins ended up parting ways with Bush during the offseason since it wouldn’t make that much sense to spend the extra money.

However, there appears to be one team that may be in pursuit of Bush–the Detroit Lions.

NFL rumors are beginning to heat up about the Lions being interested in bringing Bush on board for the 2013 season and with the way things turned out last season–it wouldn’t be a bad idea to give it a shot if the price was fair. Despite having one of the league’s best duos in Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson, Detroit’s ground game struggled for most of the 2012 season as they ranked 23rd when it came to rushing yards per game (100.8).

Bush has proven to be effective with the right system, but whether or not that would be the case with the Lions is a different story. If he could figure out a way to return to the level he played at in 2011 (or better), this would certainly be worth the risk for Detroit as they look to bounce back from a disastrous 2012 season in which they finished with a 4-12 record.
