Hold on to your seats, Raider Nation, because general manager Reggie McKenzie may have some tricks up his sleeve.

The NFL is a little under two months away from the 2013 NFL Draft, and the state of the Oakland Raiders franchise is completely up in the air, and it appears no one but the front office knows what is in store.

The Raiders have been known for making trades in the past, and now that it seems like they need so much for their team to even contend, it is a very realistic option to trade down in the draft and get more picks.

Rumors are already floating around about the possibilities of drafting Geno Smith, Star Lotulelei or even Chance Warmack in the first round. The big question is: can they draft who they want while still being able to trade back in the round and gain picks?

If the Raiders can finagle a trade that will give someone else their third overall pick, but get a top 10 pick in return, it can do wonders for the team. No matter whether fans agree or disagree who the Raiders draft, all that matters to a team is that they get the man they want, and if they can do that while still trading back and stacking draft picks, they could set themselves up in good position.

There are no rumors as of now about the Raiders possibly trading for a restricted free agent or a player in his final year. It’s still a long time until that first pick is announced and anything could happen between now and then.
