Michael Vick Is The Man, So Says LeSean McCoy

As of now, the Philadelphia Eagles have a number quarterbacks to choose from in order to run head coach Chip Kelly‘s read-option offense. However, if Kelly needs any help to hasten the situation, he can rely on none other than his starting tailback, LeSean McCoy.

McCoy, aka Shady, thinks the coach should just go with Michael Vick, now going into his fifth year as an Eagle. Quite frankly, we should expect those supportive comments from the former pro bowl running back.

McCoy was recently quoted in an interview by NJ.com while promoting a product: “I think Michael Vick is the starting quarterback. People forget – this is Michael Vick. He’s got a lot to prove this year, but he’s ready to roll. He knows people are questioning if he can get it done, and he’s gonna prove this year he can”.

The Eagles have gone on record to say the starting quarterback position will be an open competition with Vick, Nick Foles and Dennis Dixon.

McCoy also looks to bounce back from a less stellar 2012 season, especially coming off the year before where he led the league in touchdowns scored and broke the Eagles single-season record for most touchdowns by a running back, a mark once held by Hall-of-Famer Steve Van Buren.

With Kelly in place and a new offense that loves to run to football as much as pass, McCoy will have every opportunity to return to his pro bowl form. Match that with a healthy and effective Vick, and both may very well excel as it appears McCoy believes they will.
