When Will the New York Giants and Victor Cruz Reach a New Deal?
If there’s anything to take away from the previous two NFL seasons, it’s there are 31 teams who regret not signing New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz when they had the chance considering he’s arguably one of the most dangerous players in the league on offense. After helping the Giants win the Super Bowl during the 2011 regular season, Cruz has been patient when it comes to receiving a new contract.
However, it’s safe to say the time has come for New York to pay their star wide receiver, but when a deal will finally take place is a different story.
The Giants have made it clear that signing Cruz is their top priority this offseason and he certainly deserves a raise considering how much of an impact he’s had for the offense over the last two seasons. New York already had one of the league’s top wide receiver in Hakeem Nicks, but playing alongside Cruz makes their offense that much more dangerous.
There’s no reason why the Giants shouldn’t be one of the top teams in the NFC heading into 2013, but the only way that will happen is if Cruz is in the lineup. Cruz has done everything in his power to be a team player over the last two years and with all of the other players that have received new deals–there’s no question why Cruz doesn’t deserve to receive the same treatment heading into next season for the Giants.
