Percy Harvin Puts Seattle Seahawks Over The Top

Joe Glazer of FOX reports that Percy Harvin has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks, pending a physical.

The details are not yet released, but we know Harvin is going to be joining an up and coming Seahawks squad who were very close to reaching the NFC championship game.

Russell Wilson will now have a favorite target in Harvin, who won the 2009 offensive rookie of the year. He is extremely talented and very fast. We know he has had some migraine problems in the past as well as behavioral issues. The biggest question with him is if he is going to be happy. He was never thrilled as a part of the Minnesota Vikings.

With this deal, Harvin is going to look for a new contract. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract and he is going to look for Calvin Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald type of money. This spills trouble for the Seahawks. He has talent, but he definitely isn’t Calvin or Larry caliber.

This could be the move that puts the Seahawks over the top. Many people think the Seahawks were a favorite to win the Super Bowl prior to this trade, but now they are going to become an offensive powerhouse in the NFC. Wilson didn’t have a talent like Harvin in 2012, yet he still produced incredible numbers as a rookie. He had 3,118 yards and 26 touchdowns in his rookie year. His favorite target was Sidney Rice and now with a guy who has had 3,302 yards in his career, Wilson’s numbers could shoot up in 2013.
