The Detroit Lions should be pleased to see Percy Harvin get traded to the Seattle Seahawks. The move gets a true playmaker out of the NFC North Division.

In four seasons, Percy Harvin held a winning record of 4-3 over the Lions. The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver is one of many players that can boast a winning record against the Lions. However, Harvin seemed to dominate the Lions in every way. Percy was a leading receiver, rusher and return man in his contests against the Lions.

In 2012, Harvin won his only contest against the Lions. In that game, Harvin caught only three passes for 22 yards and also put up 12 yards on the ground from three rushes. From the opening kickoff, the Vikings star had the game in the bag. Harvin returned the opening kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown.

Over four seasons, Harvin has posted these statistics against the Lions:

  • 388 catches for 363 yards
  • 16 rushes for 123 yards
  • 10 kickoff returns for 348 yards

The Lions special teams has definitely been a weakness over the last several years. Harvin has been one of the biggest problems the Lions have faced on special teams. Harvin has also been a master of the wide receiver reverse run, which too has caused problems for Detroit.

The Lions 2013-2014 schedule is one of the toughest in the NFL. Losing a playmaker like Harvin on a team the Lions face twice is a positive thing for the Lions.
