There’s been plenty of talk about where St. Louis Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola could end up for the 2013 season and if Philadelphia Eagles rumors are any indication of what’s to come once free agency gets under way on Tuesday–it appears the team could have the wideout on their radar.
Obviously, this would be a great addition for the Eagles at the right price, but the last thing Philadelphia needs to do is overpay a wide receiver who has dealt with numerous injuries over the last two years. When healthy, Amendola has proven he’s capable of being one of the most dangerous wideouts in the slot and can be nearly impossible to defend at times.
Still, the main factor with the rumors connecting Amendola to the Eagles simply comes down to money and with the amount of money invested in DeSean Jackson last season–it’s difficult to imagine Amendola receiving top dollar from Philadelphia. Amendola would certainly make a nice addition playing alongside Jackson and Jeremy Maclin for the 2013 season if he can manage to stay healthy–so it should be interesting to see how these next few weeks play out once free agency officially begins on Tuesday.
There’s no question a team like the Eagles would love a speedy wide receiver like Amendola to use in the slot, but the organization is smart enough to realize his asking price may be too high for a player as much of an injury risk as he is.
