After Acquiring Anquan Boldin, San Francisco 49ers Should Be Considered Favorites to Win Super Bowl XLVIII

As shocked as he was about being traded from the Baltimore Ravens to the San Francisco 49ers, Anquan Boldin should be excited about the opportunity he’s receiving for the 2013 season considering the move may make the defending NFC Champions favorites to win the Conference once again next season–if not the Super Bowl.

Before the acquisition of Boldin, the 49ers were already considered one of the top favorites to win the Super Bowl next season as they have one of the best overall teams thanks to having a solid offense and defense. Along with the emergence of Colin Kaepernick heading into his first full season as the starter, San Francisco was already loaded with talent on offense between Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis, and Mario Manningham.

Throw Boldin into the mix–opposing defenses will certainly have their hands full going against the 49ers.

The fact that San Francisco only had to surrender a sixth-round pick to acquire Boldin from Baltimore is a huge star considering the wideout was nearly impossible to contain during the postseason. If Boldin can play at the high level he played at during the postseason in 2013, there’s every reason in the world to consider the 49ers as one of the favorites in the NFC once again.

Plus, take an offense loaded with talent along with a defense looking to bounce back after dealing with numerous injuries towards the end of last season, it’s safe to say the 49ers will have an extra chip on their shoulder heading into next season when it comes to returning to the Super Bowl.
