There’s been plenty of talk about the possibility of Wes Welker playing for a team other than the New England Patriots next season as the wide receiver made it clear he wanted to test the open market to see what other teams had to offer. Now, one of the top Denver Broncos rumors involves Welker coming on board for the 2013 season and a deal possibly coming as soon as today.

Just when you thought the Broncos couldn’t bounce back even stronger in 2013–they go out and possibly pull off a move like this to bring on one of the most dangerous slot receivers the game has to offer in Welker.
With a group of receivers that already consists of Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, Peyton Manning would receive another weapon in the passing game in Welker that has recorded at least 111 catches in five of the last six seasons and at least 1,300 receiving yards in three of the last four. Welker has been one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets over the last couple of years and to see Welker join Manning and company would be a huge way to stick it to the Patriots considering how long he’s fought for a new contract.
Stay tuned everybody–the rest of this day in free agency could get very interesting if Welker ends up joining the Broncos.
