Oakland Raiders Would Be Foolish to Even Consider Bringing Vince Young on For 2013 Season
If there’s one thing to take away from Vince Young‘s career, it would be he never should have been a starting quarterback in the NFL to begin with. So for a team like the Oakland Raiders to even slightly consider bringing him on board for the 2013 season shows how desperate they must really be at the quarterback position–which is ridiculous since they already have Carson Palmer and Terrelle Pryor.
While there’s no reason to make a big deal just yet since he’s only being brought in for a workout, the Raiders shouldn’t even be dealing with Young in the first place. For a player who showed plenty of potential back in 2006 when he first came to the NFL, Young has been nothing but a disappointment as he’s received numerous chances to prove himself as a starter after stints with the Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, and Buffalo Bills.
Young has made it clear that he still believes there are numerous teams he could still start for in the NFL, but he has nobody to blame but himself for being in this situation where he’s willing to do whatever it takes just to receive an opportunity to receive a workout from teams. Oakland most likely just wants to see what Young could possibly bring to the table in case the team ends up parting ways with Palmer due to his hefty contract, but there would be plenty of better options out there other than Young to bring on board for the 2013 season.
