One of the biggest questions from the offseason has been what the Arizona Cardinals would end up doing with quarterback Kevin Kolb–who has been nothing but a disappointment over the last two seasons as he’s struggled to stay healthy and started just 15 games. Now, one of the top Arizona Cardinals rumors involves how the team is expected to part ways with Kolb over the next few days–which wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.
If Kolb is on the team’s roster by Saturday morning, he would be due a $2 million bonus–so it would make sense why the Cardinals are expected to part ways with the quarterback in the next few days. There was plenty of potential surrounding Kolb when he was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles prior to the 2011 season, but he’s struggled to fit in Arizona’s offense over the last two years and when a player fails to put up consistent numbers playing alongside Larry Fitzgerald–it says a lot about them as a quarterback.
Kolb will most likely be picked up by another team if he does end up being released, but whether or not his days as a starting quarterback could be in jeopardy. The fact that Kolb has received plenty of opportunities to prove himself as a starter shows just how effective he really is and it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the quarterback heading into the 2013 season.
