Wes Welker will definitely miss his good friend Tom Brady, no matter what Gisele says.
“Yeah, that was definitely the hardest part was leaving Tom (Brady),” Welker said. “He’s a great competitor, great player, great friend across the board. So I wish the best to him.”
Welker will find a new friend, though, in future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.
It is still shocking to me that the New England Patriots passed on Welker for the very reasonable price that the Denver Broncos got him for. John Elway has to be feeling pretty good about the team he is putting together, and he probably hopes that his moves will result in success on the field. You have to wonder if Bill Belichick will regret passing on Welker and possibly angering his star quarterback in the process.
“Everything was on good terms,” Welker said. “I feel like everything was good. Any time you are a competitor, you are going to clash at times. But overall we always had a great relationship. Everything’s on good terms. I have no ill feelings or anything else.”
No ill feelings. Sure Welker, we all believe that, but at least you handlded your situation in New England with class. And now you have another Pro Bowl quarterback with high class throwing you the ball. Life must be good just switching from one legend to another.
