Can Ryan Tannehill Live Up to the Pressure For the Miami Dolphins in 2013?
When looking at the group of wide receivers he had on board for the 2012 season, the argument can be made that Ryan Tannehill looked impressive at times for the Miami Dolphins. However, there will be no more excuses for the second-year quarterback heading into the 2013 season now that he’ll have more weapons on offense–mainly wide receiver Mike Wallace.
The Dolphins landed one of the biggest players in free agency with Wallace as he’s the type of player that can make an immediate impact on offense. When healthy, Wallace has proven to be one of the most dangerous and fastest wide receivers in the NFL–which Tannehill will certainly love next season.
Plus, the Dolphins signed Brian Hartline to a hefty deal this offseason as well–so hopefully the two make a nice duo at wide receiver.
Miami pulled off one of the biggest surprises in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft by selecting Tannehill and while he showed potential at times as a rookie–he still has a lot to prove before the Dolphins should be convinced he’s their answer at quarterback. Tannehill was able to use the excuse last year of having a weak group of wide receivers, but that will no longer be the case next season now that Wallace is on board.
The weapons are there for Tannehill–so it’s time for him to prove himself as a quarterback by showing Miami he deserves to be the franchise quarterback they’ve been searching so long for.
