Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer Needs to Stop Acting Like a Drama Queen

One of the biggest questions this offseason with the Oakland Raiders has been whether or not Carson Palmer would return for the 2013 season as the team has made it clear they won’t pay him the $13 million salary he’s due. Of course, Palmer has made it difficult when it comes to the renegotiating process as he’s made it clear he didn’t want to restructure his contract and even turned down a $3 million pay cut.

To make things even more dramatic, Palmer is now saying he’s willing to take a pay cut to play for a contender–which shows how ridiculous he is as a quarterback.

This situation sounds all too familiar from a couple of years ago when Palmer threatened to retire if the Cincinnati Bengals didn’t trade him. Palmer has every reason in the world to want to play for a contender, but the way he’s been handling this situation with the Raiders has been nothing short of selfish.

If anything, Palmer should be doing everything in his power to work something out with Oakland considering they’re his best shot of a starting job for the 2013 season. Despite Palmer’s impressive numbers last season, it’s no secret that most of his statistics came during garbage time when the Raiders found themselves trailing in the game.

Palmer has already made plenty of money throughout his career and the last thing he would want is to play as a backup for the 2013 season–so needs to quit being a drama queen and just work something out with the Raiders.
