This is the time of year when teams bring in prospects they want to get a better look at as we get closer to the draft. It gives the fan a good idea of who the team may be targeting as we get closer and closer to the draft. The New York Giants are no different.

Here are some of the top 30 players that the team is bringing in for a look from outside the tri-state area; G Patrick Omameh and Chance Warmack, DL A.J. Francis, T Vinston Painter and S Rontez Miles. Miles is a DII product. Warmack may not be there when the Giants pick. One name I haven’t seen is Manti Te’o, though that could come at a later date, or the Giants got all the info they needed at the combine.

Here is a list of the local guys, guys who went to school or are from the tri-state area; LB Steve Beauharis and Khaseem Greene, RB Jawan Jamison, Miguel Maysonet and Ray Graham, TE D.C. Jefferson and Matt Furstenberg, DT Gilbert Pena, WR Ryan Spadola and K Patrick Murray. The guy to watch as a sleeper is Maysonet. The Stony Brook product is the small school guy that is rising across draft boards. You may not have ever seen him play, but the scouts seem to love the guy.

You can see that the positions they are bringing players in for are positions where the team could use an extra body or two, or maybe even a starter.
