Should the Green Bay Packers Sign Ahmad Bradshaw?

A couple of weeks ago, the Green Bay Packers seemed like they were close to signing former St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson before he ended up signing with the Atlanta Falcons instead. Now, the Packers are still considering their options when it comes to adding another running back and one player that specifically comes to mind–Ahmad Bradshaw.

The running back is still looking for a new home following his release from the New York Giants and while the Packers may have one of the top offenses in football–they need plenty of help in the ground game. It’s been a long time since Green Bay had a consistent No. 1 running back and he may not rank near the top of the league like some of the league’s best running backs such as Arian Foster or Adrian Peterson, but Bradshaw has proven to be effective throughout his career.

As long as Aaron Rodgers is healthy and under center, the Packers are always going to be considered one of the league’s top contenders and that should be the case once again heading into 2013. Green Bay has one of the most dangerous passing games the NFL has to offer with reliable wide receivers such as Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and James Jones, but they could still use that effective running back.

Bradshaw has proven to be a winner throughout his career, so if he’s showing interest–the Packers should strongly consider signing him.
