Denver Broncos Rumors: Is John Elway Looking for Another QB?
The Peyton Manning regime has just passed the first year for the Denver Broncos, with hopefully another four healthy seasons to come. Realistically, the future Hall of Fame quarterback who just turned 37 will be fortunate to last that long.
Last year, executive vice president of football operations John Elway drafted QB Brock Osweiler out of Arizona State, and since then has spoken highly of his abilities. So why then, would Elway be bringing in another QB at this stage for a visit before the 2013 NFL Draft in three weeks?
According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post in a tweet earlier today,
Miami (Ohi0) QB Zac Dysert visiting Broncos today.

Dysert joins the Broncos today in Dove Valley and might be a possibility for the third-string position behind Manning and Osweiler. Although it is a foregone conclusion that the Broncos need quality backups in case (gasp) of Manning suffering any prolonged injuries, Osweiler would be the logical choice to take over unless a veteran was brought in as security.
Osweiler had only two completions for 12 yards last year, which is about all anyone wants to see from a backup to Manning. While Elway and the Broncos coaches can say how high they are on Osweiler, he is still an unknown entity as far as a leader on the field is concerned.
Dysert, 6-foot-3 and 227 pounds, was a starter all four years for Miami (Ohio) and had 25 touchdowns against 12 interceptions and 3,483 yards in 2012. I fully expect the Broncos to bring in extra help to groom for the future, but it is safe to say that Broncos fans hope that is later rather than sooner.
I still expect Elway to utilize the draft better and possibly wait to sign another quarterback because with needs at running back, defensive end and secondary, the six picks the Broncos have are not going to go too far.
