Despite Kevin Kolb Signing, Buffalo Bills Should Still Consider a Quarterback in 2013 NFL Draft

After parting ways with Ryan Fitzpatrick, it seemed like only a matter of time before the Buffalo Bills found themselves a new quarterback for the 2013 season and even though they signed Kevin Kolb following his release from the Arizona Cardinals–that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t still consider selecting a quarterback in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Even if the offensive line failed to protect him enough last season, Kolb has received plenty of opportunities to prove himself as a starter throughout his career and if he struggled to make it with Arizona or the Philadelphia Eagles–chances are he will struggle once again in Buffalo. Kolb couldn’t even establish a connection with one of the best wide receivers in football in Larry Fitzgerald over the last two seasons may be the perfect example of what type of quarterback Kolb really is–which is why the Bills should be looking at the possibility of selecting a quarterback when the draft takes place in a few weeks.

From Geno Smith to Matt Barkley, this year’s draft class is filled with plenty of talented quarterbacks that seem to have the potential when it comes to developing into a quarterback to build the franchise around. It’s certainly worth giving Kolb a shot to prove himself with the Bills, but it’s no secret he’s not their long-term solution and the team will need to consider another quarterback at some point.

With all of the potential talent in this year’s draft class, it would be wise for Buffalo to select a quarterback in a few weeks from now.
