It’s safe to say the Miami Dolphins have kept themselves busy this offseason with all of the key additions they’ve made to compete in the AFC East for the 2013 season. With the No. 12 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Dolphins could go with of numerous players considering the amount of areas in need of improvement–including Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o.

The controversial linebacker has scheduled a visit with the Dolphins and as crazy as it sounds–it may not be a bad idea to at least consider him for the No. 12 pick. Forget everything surrounding Te’o and the hoax scandal–the linebacker proved last year he has what it takes to be an effective football player and he was a key factor in helping the Irish finish undefeated during the regular season.

Plus, when looking at how hard Te’o has worked over the last couple of weeks to keep his mind focused on football–it’s safe to say he’s willing to do whatever it takes to succeed at the NFL level. If the Dolphins are going to have any chance of competing in the division, they’re going to have to win it with defense by trying to figure out a way to contain the New England Patriots and their high-powered offense.

There’s no telling what to expect from Te’o as a rookie, but it’s safe to say he’s certainly worth considering at No. 12 for Miami in a few weeks when the draft finally gets underway.
