2013 NFL Draft: St. Louis Rams Need to Do Whatever it Takes to Land Tavon Austin

(Brian Spurlock/USA Today Sports)

The St. Louis Rams are lucky enough to have two first round picks in the 2013 NFL Draft and without a doubt–they need to do whatever it takes to land a star wide receiver. This year’s draft class is filled with plenty of talented wide receivers, but as far as the Rams are concerned, they need to do whatever it takes to land Tavon Austin of West Virginia.

When looking at what he accomplished at West Virginia, there’s no question Austin could turn out to be the best wide receiver from this year’s class considering he’s capable of being just as dangerous on the ground as through the air. During his time at West Virginia, Austin proved to be one of the fastest players at his position and caused all sorts of nightmares for opposing defenders–which he hopes to bring to the NFL level.

Forget about his height–Austin is capable of being just as dangerous at the pro level as the college level and it will be interesting to see what type of impact he can make as a rookie. Hopefully, Austin will still be available at No. 16 for St. Louis as numerous teams will be looking to add a wide receiver for the 2013 season.

Austin most likely won’t fall in the top 10 and should be selected in the middle of the first round–so let’s hope the Rams are lucky enough to land him to give Sam Bradford another weapon next season.
