New York Jets Rumors: Could Mark Sanchez Be Traded to Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

(Kirby Lee/USA Today Sports)

There have been plenty of New York Jets rumors swirling over the last couple of weeks about the team possibly trading cornerback Darrelle Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers–who have even been willing to give up their first-round pick in part of the deal. However, it appears there may be another player the Buccaneers may be interested in as well–quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Apparently, there have been rumors about the Buccaneers discussing a possible deal for Revis that would also include Sanchez. Keep in mind that earlier this week there were reports about Greg Schiano not being 100 percent sold on quarterback Josh Freeman–so it wouldn’t be a surprise if these rumors ended up being true.

Plus, with the No. 9 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, it’s difficult not to wonder whether the Jets may consider moving on from Sanchez and selecting a quarterback like Matt Barkley or Geno Smith in the first round. Sanchez has received numerous opportunities over the years to prove himself as a starter in the NFL and it’s clear New York is paying him more money than he deserves.

So if Tampa Bay is trying to get New York to throw Sanchez in the mix of a possible trade–it really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

If anything, the Jets would be smart to at least listen to what the Buccaneers have to offer. Imagine after all of the talks surrounding a possible trade for Tim Tebow and it ended up being Sanchez leaving town instead.

Brandon Marshall Tells Rich Eisen He Hasn't Spoken To Jay Cutler

During a recent appearance on ' The Rich Eisen Show', former Chicago Bears and current New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall was asked about his relationship with his old quarterback, Jay Cutler. Marshall, who has zero chill, replied that he had not spoken to Cutler in "two years." Naturally, Eisen was shocked and mentioned that they were teammates just a season ago. Marshall essentially confirmed that they were not talking off the field during his last year in Chicago, but ultimately wished Cutler well.
