Cleveland Browns Should Pick Dee Milliner With Sixth Pick In NFL Draft

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

We are now less than two weeks away from the NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 6 pick and need to be looking for help at several positions.

I would think that with the talent around the AFC North that a cornerback would be nice to have, which would mean going out to get Dee Milliner with that pick. The Browns could pair Milliner with Joe Haden and shut down the opponents’ passing game.

Milliner showed this past season that he can be a shutdown cornerback and has the ability to be the next big star at that position. There has been talk as well that Cleveland may want to trade down to get more picks, but I think Milliner would be the right pick to make if available. It is quite possible that Milliner gets picked before their pick but if he can be taken, it is a no-brainer to me.

I would want to have a cornerback that can stop the best wide receivers around the NFL especially in today’s game, where passing is the new norm. Cleveland will be a better team strictly due to the progression of Trent Richardson and with the addition of Paul Kruger on defense.

The team may have the ability to make an even bigger jump from their five-win total of last season with a selection of Milliner. This can be a very exciting time for Cleveland, and that all starts with the right draft pick.
